Following the sad passing of Tim Connors last September after a battle with cancer, his legacy continues to have a profound impact on those who knew him.
Tim was a devoted Burnley supporter and season ticket holder, as well as a much-loved teacher at Nidderdale High School in Pateley Bridge. In tribute to his 22 years of teaching, the school community has come together to launch a heartfelt fundraising initiative titled “Remembering Mr Connors 22.”
The campaign involves completing 22 activities in honour of each year Tim dedicated to the school, with the aim of raising funds for a new outdoor shelter for students. Many of these activities reflect Tim’s passions and the positive influence he had on those around him.
The school kicked things off by turning Nidderdale High School claret and blue for a special non-uniform day. More recently, a group of Year 11 students undertook an incredible sponsored 38-mile run — the distance from the school to Tim’s beloved Turf Moor.
In support of the fundraiser, a parent reached out to Burnley Football Club to see if they might be able to contribute. The club very generously responded by donating an exceptional prize: two Chairman’s Lounge tickets for the final game of the season, including a three-course meal.
This fantastic experience is now being auctioned online via 32auctions.com, with all proceeds going towards the school’s fundraising efforts.
The school community continues to be inspired by Tim’s memory, and this initiative stands as a fitting tribute to his dedication, passion, and lasting impact.
