Notice is hereby given that the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Burnley Supporters Trust Limited (also known as the Clarets Trust) will be held at 7pm on Friday 12th November via a Zoom video conference call, to consider, discuss and if thought fit, pass, the following resolutions or
transact the following business:
- To hold an affirmative ballot regarding elections (assuming hustings are not required).
- To transact any other business.
The agenda and meeting pack (including a proxy voting form) for the AGM is scheduled to be issued by Friday 25 October 2024.
NOTICE OF TRUST BOARD ELECTION AND AGM MOTIONS 2024
ELECTION MANAGEMENT GROUP (EMG)
Neil Le Milliere, Exeter City Supporters Trust Board member and Football Supporters Association (FSA) National Councillor has again agreed to be our Independent Chair and the Nominations/Returning Officer. Our Trust Secretary, George Stuart, will join Neil on the EMG.
CURRENT BOARD
There were four Board members elected at the 2023 AGM, Joseph Skinner, Andy Brown, Ian Horsfall and Simon Bennett, as such they are one year into their three-year terms. One vacancy was not filled.
Jane Pike and Terry Hephrun were elected at the 2021 AGM, whilst George Poole and Nigel Cotterill were co-opted in the intervening period. All four will now resign from office and are eligible to stand for election.
This means there are five vacancies to be filled, as last year. For information, last year it was believed that the Clarets Trust Rules set a limit to the number of consecutive years/three-year terms that a Board
Member could serve. However, after consultation with the FSA, it was discovered that this is not the case so there is no limit going forward.
NOMINATING
For those wishing to stand for Election to the Board a Self-Nomination Form is included in this Election pack. This needs to be completed and returned with an electronic Candidate Statement (minimum 400, maximum 1000 words and optional photograph) from the email address that the member has registered with the Trust.

Members interested in standing will find information about the available roles in this Election Pack. NB. The Election is for election to the Board, not to specific roles and the roles are only included to indicate what positions potentially will need filling from amongst those elected.
Note that only fully paid-up Members on or before 31 August 2024 are entitled to stand for election, nominate candidates, vote in the Board Elections and attend the AGM. Those who were NOT members before 31 August 2024 are not entitled to stand or vote but can attend the AGM. Applicants will need to be nominated by at least two fully paid-up members of the Trust as of 31 August 2024. Those proposing the nominations will need to email neil_le_milliere@btinternet.com from the email address that the member has registered with the Trust, with the subject “BURNLEY NOMINATION” and include their membership number and the name of the member they wish to nominate.

CALL FOR MOTIONS
In addition to any resolutions that will be put forward by the Trust Board, members can submit their own motions to the AGM. Such a motion must be submitted to the Trust by email to claretstrust@gmail.com by Friday 11 October 2024 with the subject AGM MOTION PROPOSAL. The full agenda is scheduled to be published by 25 October 2024.
