The Clarets Trust were delighted to present out Player of the Year to James Tarkowski before the final game of the season on Sunday. Tarkowski received a commanding majority of the votes from our Clarets Trust members in the public vote over the past few weeks, which came as no surprise to the Clarets Trust Board. It was a pleasure to award our brand new trophy to Tarkowski, adorned by the brand-new Clarets Trust logo.

‘Tarks’ has been a colossal at the back this season, playing 35 league games and keeping 7 clean sheets. Over the course of his Burnley career, the 29-year-old has made 194 Premier League appearances, keeping 52 clean sheets and scoring 7 goals. Of course, that is not to forget his invaluable contribution during the 2015/16 Championship-winning season that saw Burnley make an immediate return to the Premier League following relegation.

It appears that Tarks will be leaving for pastures new this summer, but it has been an absolute pleasure to watch him grow as a player over his six years at the club and he will will be remembered fondly in these parts. Thanks for everything James and hopefully we will see you in Qatar…
