Five years ago the Clarets Trust submitted the case for Turf Moor to be listed as an Asset of Community Value. After due consideration the stadium became classified as the first ACV in Burnley.
Five years later this listing is due for renewal and the Clarets Trust have again submitted the case for the stadium to continue to be listed as an Asset of Community Value. The proposal has be signed and is being submitted to Burnley Borough Council this week. The Trust have earlier this year put this proposal to the Football Club who are supportive of the proposal as it is submitted – just for the stadium itself.
Turf Moor is the historic home of Burnley Football Club since 1883 but it is not only important to the thousands of Burnley supporters that go to the Club, or the players but has a much wider importance to the Borough of Burnley as a whole.
The Trust look forward to the Council agreeing once again to this proposal which will now be considered by the Council
