Safe standing remains a hotly debated issue among football supporters although it seems clear that the current situation, where many supporters stand in seated areas to the detriment of those who prefer/are only able to remain seated, is unsatisfactory.
At long last, this issue appears to be gaining traction amongst MPs and The All Party Group for Football Supporters are holding an event at The Houses of Parliament on 1st May.
Please do encourage your MP to attend and hear more about this subject which will be highly relevant to many of their constituents.

Celtic FC’s Ronnie Hawthorn (Head of Safety, Security and Operations) will explain how the newly-installed rail seat standing area is working at Celtic Park.
Almost 3,000 fans can be accommodated into Celtic’s standing area and Ronnie is happy to answer all MPs questions or concerns.
The FSF’s Safe Standing Campaign lead Peter Daykin will also be in attendance to explain the next steps for the campaign and how MPs can get involved.
The majority of football fans back the choice to sit or stand with most citing an improved atmosphere as their main reason.
Last year Liverpool fans backed safe standing while more recently Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said his club were looking at the concept.
So far this season the APPG has tackled homophobia in football and issues relating to TV kick-off time – we have actions on these for interested MPs.
