All true Clarets fans must have many great Turf Moor memories – which is why the Trust, in agreement with the Club, got Burnley Council to register the ground as an Asset of Community value.
It is now just over 20 years since the old Longside witnessed the last game – a Burnley win!
It was in the mid 50’s when the side was covered. Originally the front was an enclosure at an extra cost. Later on the side was segregated with a section given over to away fans.
It was good to see some home fans in the Cricket Field end – it is surely good for ground atmosphere.
Let us hope Burnley fans make this work
When we beat Reading in the play of semi final second leg who will ever forget that great winning goal soaring into the net? It seemed to take ages and the Burnley fans’ atmosphere was great.
