CUP TIE MAGIC?
The recent cup game against SPURS highlighted one of the big changes in the game over the last 50 years. In the past a third round game against another top division team would have guaranteed a virtual sell out. Instead of reducing prices the odds were a price increase for such a game. So some of the magic of this old cup competition no longer exists.
Certainly our priority must be to ensure we secure our place in the Premier for another season – and a replay is not really very welcome. The decision to play the original game on a Monday has raised some questions – should there have been more consultation in a very tight time period?
Season tickets are already on sale for next season and with the price freeze there are some very attractive offers available – the early bird deadline is 31st March.
Do not forget if there are any issues you wish us to discuss with the Club do let us know.
New members of the TRUST are still very welcome – you can join and also pay your subscriptions via our website.
Have you any thoughts for who our Player of the Year should be – if so do let us know.
Recent games have shown we have the determination and ability to remain in the Premier but the support of the fans remains a crucial element in this. Whether we strengthen the team or not in the transfer window remains to be seen – we all have different ideas on this but it is not as easy as it sounds. We have a great manager in Sean DYCHE and it really is good to see OUR team playing, on merit, in the top league in this country.
